Are there different types of Gifts I can leave?

There are three types of gift you can leave in your Will.

A share of your estate or ‘residuary legacy’ is the whole or a percentage of the remainder of your estate once all other legacies and costs have been paid. This will make the biggest difference to our work as it will maintain its value over time. Even just 1% of your estate will help struggling families to change their lives forever. This is a great way to provide for your family and friends and also pass on what you have to help families grow a better future.

A specific sum or a ‘pecuniary legacy’ e.g. £10,000. This type of gift may decrease in value over time due to inflation.

A specific item of value such as antiques or jewellery.

Please remember to seek advice from a solicitor when deciding what type of gift to leave Ripple Effect and when drawing up or amending your Will.
