Jersey Overseas Aid

Ripple Effect has been delivering dairy for development projects with the support of Jersey Overseas Aid since 2016. Working with dairy farmers to improve the food their cows eat, their health and wellbeing, and their milk production, the partnership has lifted thousands of farmers out of poverty and enriched and improved their diets. Beginning in Kenya, JOA now supports our work in several locations across Rwanda and Ethiopia. Of the 12,000 dairy farmers working with Ripple Effect in the Inka Nziza (“good cow”) project in Rwanda, 98% were food secure after three years.

Ripple Effect
The Starbucks Foundation

We have partnered with The Starbucks Foundation since 2018 to positively impact women and girls in coffee-growing communities so that they can build brighter futures for themselves and their families. The Starbucks Foundation is currently supporting our work in Nyaruguru and Rwamagana districts in Rwanda, and in Bensa district in Ethiopia. Previous projects supported by The Starbucks Foundation have had a transformative impact on the lives of smallholder farming families through training in sustainable agriculture techniques, gender equality, women’s leadership and enterprise development. By the end of our Empowering Coffee Communities project in Rwanda (2021-24), 97% of households were food secure.

Ripple Effect
Riverford Organic Farmers

Our partnership with Riverford Organic Farmers began in 2010, grounded in a shared commitment to sustainable agriculture. Much of Riverford’s funding has been pledged to Uganda. From 2020-2023, Riverford supported the ‘Push-Pull’ initiative, so called after an innovative intercropping technique which helps eradicate pests, restore soil health and improve yields. Of the 400 participating families, 96% were food secure by project end. Today, Riverford’s donations are fully unrestricted, allowing us to direct funding where it's needed most – from tackling child malnutrition in Burundi, to improving equine welfare in Kenya.
