A mandala garden is an ingenious solution garden allowing families to capture precious run-off water and grow plentiful vegetables.
Round in design, they are used on small plots of land, usually with shallow or compacted soil. They are found on a slope, capturing run off water in the centre, especially useful in the dry season. They can be farmed intensively, and farmers often produce a high yield of crops all year round, helping with food security and generating income.
