Many smallholder farmers in rural Africa grow enough to survive, but not enough to build financial security. Without access to savings, loans, or reliable markets, it’s hard to invest, grow, or recover from setbacks.
The Seed & Scale Fund helps farmers move beyond subsistence farming and build sustainable, independent livelihoods.
What your support makes possible
With the right training and connections, farmers can:
- Save and invest in their farms and small businesses
- Grow and sell a wider range of products
- Access markets, cooperatives, and buyers
- Strengthen their skills in enterprise and financial management
- Test new ideas and adapt to changing conditions
Most farmers we work with will earn above the global poverty line, build regular savings to protect against shocks, and run multiple income-generating activities for greater resilience. Together, we can help farming families turn hard work into opportunity and create stronger local economies for the future.
