Poverty-Busting Pineapples
£5.00
Pineapples help families thrive, even through drought periods – providing food, income and stability.
Gifts like this support families in rural Africa with climate-resilient fruit and vegetable seeds such as the poverty-busting pineapple! Not only are these fruits delicious, but they can also provide a sustainable source of income helping to break the cycle of poverty. As pineapples are in high demand at the market and fetch a sweet price, growing them can empower families to improve their livelihoods and create a brighter future for generations to come.
Your gift helps mothers like Elizabeth.
Elizabeth is one of our youth Peer farmers. She received training on on sustainable farming techniques and has since started planting vegetables growing both kale and traditional African leafy vegetables as well as pineapples, avocados, bananas, maize, beans, amaranth grain, and ground nuts. She also keeps poultry and goats. The surplus produce is sold at market, providing her family with much-needed income.

Why your gift has lasting impact
A Ripple Effect gift isn't a handout; it’s an opportunity. Your gift helps us reach some of the poorest families in rural Africa, enabling them to grow nutritious food, earn a living, and build secure futures.
We focus on long-term impact rather than short-term gains, and on support that's practical and relevant.
Our locally-based teams train families to:
- Farm sustainably and protect their land.
- Include everyone in the household and share tasks fairly.
- Develop their small businesses and financial independence.
Farming families are so committed to change that they share what they learn and grow with others. This creates a ripple effect that transforms communities far beyond our programmes.
