Life-Changing Calf
£60.00
This Life-Changing Calf charity gift supports families in rural Africa with nutritious milk and manure for fertiliser.
Families who receive a cow from Ripple Effect promise to pass on the first-born female calf to another local family. In time, this cow will produce nutritious milk for the families’ children, along with a supply of manure which is an excellent fertiliser to help crops grow and thrive. Surplus milk and crops can also be sold for vital income so the family can afford household essentials and to keep their children in school.
Your gifts empower fathers like Wycliffe.
Before joining a Ripple Effect project, Wycliffe struggled with depleted soil and limited farming knowledge. By adopting new techniques, he now keeps his cows and soil healthy with a variety of nutritious fodder—especially his favourite, the ‘Mombasa’ variety.

Why your gift has lasting impact
A Ripple Effect gift isn't a handout; it’s an opportunity. Your gift helps us reach some of the poorest families in rural Africa, enabling them to grow nutritious food, earn a living, and build secure futures.
We focus on long-term impact rather than short-term gains, and on support that's practical and relevant.
Our locally-based teams train families to:
- Farm sustainably and protect their land.
- Include everyone in the household and share tasks fairly.
- Develop their small businesses and financial independence.
Farming families are so committed to change that they share what they learn and grow with others. This creates a ripple effect that transforms communities far beyond our programmes.
