Dairy Cow
£700.00
This is the original Ripple Effect charity gift, giving families in rural Africa hope for a brighter future.
This is the original Ripple Effect gift, giving families in rural Africa hope for a brighter future. A cow can make a huge difference to a family. It can produce over 3,000 litres of milk a year and is a vital source of income and nutrition. Cow manure is also an excellent fertiliser that can be used on the land, helping crops to grow and thrive.
Your gift supports parents like Christine and Titus.
When Christine and Titus joined a Ripple Effect project, they were struggling to support their four children on a small, unproductive piece of land. But with determination, quality seeds, and practical training, they’ve transformed that land into a thriving farm. Using manure from their cow to enrich compost, they’ve restored vital nutrients to their soil. Today, their harvests are flourishing and their children are thriving.

Why your gift has lasting impact
A Ripple Effect gift isn't a handout; it’s an opportunity. Your gift helps us reach some of the poorest families in rural Africa, enabling them to grow nutritious food, earn a living, and build secure futures.
We focus on long-term impact rather than short-term gains, and on support that's practical and relevant.
Our locally-based teams train families to:
- Farm sustainably and protect their land.
- Include everyone in the household and share tasks fairly.
- Develop their small businesses and financial independence.
Farming families are so committed to change that they share what they learn and grow with others. This creates a ripple effect that transforms communities far beyond our programmes.
