Clean Latrine
£24.00
A Clean Latrine charity gift keeps families healthy and productive with good hygiene and sanitation.
Many families at the start of their journey with Ripple Effect do not have access to a toilet and handwashing facilities. Families are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to build a simple, yet clean, latrine near their homes out of local materials. Good hygiene and sanitation are key to keeping a family healthy so they can concentrate on developing thriving farms and a brighter future.
Your gift helps families like Wycliffe’s.
Wycliffe is a volunteer peer farmer and a community leader who has seen first-hand the impact of good hygiene. Previously, he didn’t have a proper latrine and lacked awareness about maintaining cleanliness for himself and his home. Today, he has built a latrine using local materials and installed a handwashing station, helping to keep his family healthy and prevent illness.

Why your gift has lasting impact
A Ripple Effect gift isn't a handout; it’s an opportunity. Your gift helps us reach some of the poorest families in rural Africa, enabling them to grow nutritious food, earn a living, and build secure futures.
We focus on long-term impact rather than short-term gains, and on support that's practical and relevant.
Our locally-based teams train families to:
- Farm sustainably and protect their land.
- Include everyone in the household and share tasks fairly.
- Develop their small businesses and financial independence.
Farming families are so committed to change that they share what they learn and grow with others. This creates a ripple effect that transforms communities far beyond our programmes.
About your gift:
- How we use your gift: wherever the need is greatest across the countries we work in, making a huge difference to the lives of families in rural Africa.
- Gift cards and other items: sent via Royal Mail 2nd Class post within five working days of receiving your order.
- E-gift cards: sent directly to the recipient on the date you choose.
