Amal Murgian - Chair

Amal Murgian was born in Kenya and educated in the UK and the US. After a career in management consulting and finance, Amal has shifted her focus to improving the lives of women and girls is East Africa. 

Her primary interests are improving the livelihoods of disadvantaged women through improving access to justice, healthcare and economic opportunities, specifically in agribusiness.

Christine Alupo

Christine’s leadership and management experience include leading operations, strategy, corporate governance, community engagement, and strategic stakeholder management.

She currently serves as Director of the Currency Department of the Central Bank of Uganda, (BoU), having previously led the Department of Board Affairs and the Department of Communications at BoU. Christine is passionate about the empowerment of people excluded from formal financial services and was part of a core team that developed the BoU’s financial inclusion framework between 2011 and 2018.

Isaac Litali

Isaac is a Member of the Kenya Institute of Management (MKIM), and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, and a Certified Public Secretary of Kenya. He has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland.

Jane T Nyambura

Jane has an MBA in Strategic Management and is a sustainability and partnership professional with over 15 years’ experience working with companies to develop their sustainability strategies, building multi-stakeholder partnerships and creating programmes that harness the power of businesses, civil society, and government to address systemic challenges.

Jane is passionate about working with companies and communities to support them in becoming more purpose-driven, and in tackling environmental and social issues. She is also a tea and avocado farmer and has served on a number of advisory boards and trusts.

Robyn Davis Sekula

US-based Robyn Davis Sekula is Vice President of Communications and Marketing for the Presbyterian Foundation in Louisville, Kentucky, overseeing strategic communications from the Foundation to the Presbyterian Church’s two million members

Robyn has worked as a communications and marketing consultant for non-profit organisations and businesses and as a journalist and writer. She joined the US board of trustees for Ripple Effect in 2015 and has visited the organisation’s projects in western Kenya in 2017 and Rwanda in 2019.

Peter Jeffries

Peter Jeffries has a strong history of board participation and leadership and nearly 40 years’ experience in the animal health sector - most recently as CEO of GALVmed (Global Alliance for Livestock Veterinary Medicines).

Peter is also the Chair of Ripple Effect’s Group Board of Trustees and is leading them to deliver the 2030 strategy focused on growing the organisation’s impact and reach to support a further 5 million people to learn more, grow more and sell more.
