Mercy’s story: a new begining

You may remember Mercy, whose story inspired our Mother & Child appeal in 2017. Mercy was struggling to feed her family. They lived in one room of a small hut. They barely ate one meal a day - Mercy felt truly desperate.

We launched our biggest ever campaign, the Mother & Child appeal, to help mothers like Mercy grow their own nutritious food to feed their families.

Thanks to your incredible support and the UK government matching all your donations, we beat our target and raised over £2.6 million and were able to launch a new project in western Kenya working with 73,329 people.

Thanks to you, women like Mercy are able to grow plentiful food to cook healthy meals for their families.
