Our trustees give generously of their time and expertise to ensure the good governance of the organisation
Peter Jeffries
Peter Jeffries has a strong history of board participation and leadership and nearly 40 years’ experience in the animal health sector - most recently as CEO of GALVmed (Global Alliance for Livestock Veterinary Medicines).
Peter is leading Ripple Effect’s Group Board of Trustees to deliver the 2030 strategy focused on growing the organisation’s impact and reach to support a further 5 million people to learn more, grow more and sell more.
Simon Doherty
Simon is a senior academic at the Institute of Global Food Security, Queen’s University Belfast and is a recent past-president of the British Veterinary Association.
He started working with Ripple Effect as a volunteer ambassador in 2013, and brings a wealth of professional and personal experience to Ripple Effect, having spent over 20 years in the veterinary sector. His support has also extended to providing technical and veterinary support to a number of our initiatives.
Andrew Gillam
Andrew has 30 years' experience as a chartered accountant. He trained with KPMG and worked for them in Ghana and Nigeria, and has since spent most of his career in insurance.
He is currently Head of Finance for AIG Life in London and lives in Croydon with his family. He is a Reader in the Church of England.
Fiona Crisp
Fiona Crisp is the Staff Health Travel Advisor for Oxfam, based in Oxford where she lives with her husband and son.
She has previously lived and worked overseas as a relief and development worker for 14 years in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean where she specialised in health and HIV.
Sarah Brunwin
Sarah has worked as a consultant in the charity sector for more than 30 years and has a keen interest in and knowledge of NGOs working in Africa.
She has visited numerous projects throughout Africa and has particular knowledge and experience in the areas of agriculture, education, health, development and conservation.
Stephanie Dennison
Stephanie is an experienced development consultant working in the charitable sector, having previously been a journalist on national newspapers.
She works with arts, heritage and children’s charities, is a trained executive coach and a professional mentor with the Institute of Fundraising. She has held senior charity management roles and currently lives in Devon.
Simon Gill
Simon has over 30 years’ experience in international development and public financial management in numerous countries across Africa and Asia. He has worked with the UK government, a consultancy company and latterly with the Overseas Development Institute where he has undertaken a variety of management roles.
He currently divides his time between Ayrshire and the Isle of Bute.
Alison Griffith
Alison has a background in food and agriculture. Her experience includes market system development, multi-stakeholder dialogue, private-sector partnerships, fair trade and impact investment.
She has worked in both programme and policy areas with international NGOs, private companies and as an independent consultant.
David Kuwana
David has more than 30 years of international management experience, including working in the banking and financial services sector, mostly in Africa.
He is now a human resources and business management consultant focusing on Africa. He brings to the board his expertise on human resources management as well as insights on effective general management performance.
Patricia Napier MBE
Patricia has a medical background as a nurse, midwife and health visitor. Two years spent working for VSO in an isolated community in Zambia proved life-changing: she has been involved with a number of organisations linked to Zambia, and established the Baynards Zambia Trust in 1997.
This has grown over the years, alongside delivery partner the Zambia Rainbow Development Foundation which provides a holistic approach to addressing the challenges of disenfranchised communities. Her work in Zambia was recognised by her award of an MBE.
