A mandala garden is an ingenious solution garden allowing families to capture precious run-off water and grow plentiful vegetables.

Round in design, they are used on small plots of land, usually with shallow or compacted soil. They are found on a slope, capturing run off water in the centre, especially useful in the dry season. They can be farmed intensively, and farmers often produce a high yield of crops all year round, helping with food security and generating income.

And whatever water isn’t taken by the ground at that point, it remains in this hole and the soil will continue to slowly drink from this source and that is very helpful for my vegetables.”
