What is the Big Give?

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest match-funded campaign. For seven days, Ripple Effect supporters can have their donations doubled and, in doing so, can make twice the difference this Christmas to farming families in rural Africa.

To take part and have your donation doubled, you must donate to Ripple Effect's campaign page on the Big Give website between midday Tuesday 28 November to midday Tuesday 5 December. Donations made via the Big Give website during the campaign period will then be doubled by a Big Give Champion called the Big Give Trust and a generous group of Ripple Effect supporters.

To take part and have your donation doubled, you must donate through Ripple Effect's campaign page on the Big Give website during the campaign period of midday Tuesday 28 November to midday Tuesday 5 December.

Donations made via the Big Give website during the campaign period will then be doubled by a Big Give Champion called the Big Give Trust and a generous group of Ripple Effect supporters.

Please note that donations made offline (such as via BACS transfer or by cheque in the post) or on other websites (including the Ripple Effect website) cannot be doubled, but will be greatly appreciated.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign runs from midday Tuesday 28 November to midday Tuesday 5 December. 

Donations made to the Big Give Christmas Challenge will be doubled by a Big Give Champion called the Big Give Trust, and a generous group of Ripple Effect supporters known as Pledgers. The Big Give Trust and Pledgers have agreed to match up to £50,000, which would then be doubled. With your support, an amazing £100,000 could be raised, helping farming families in rural Ethiopia fight hunger and the climate crisis. Once the £50,000 target has been reached, donations will no longer be doubled but will still be greatly appreciated.

Donations made to the Big Give Christmas Challenge will support 1,484 farming families in Ethiopia to fight hunger and the climate crisis through climate-positive and sustainable farming techniques, enabling them to grow nutritious food. Families will receive training in managing natural resources, which will in turn improve soil quality and boost food production.
